Day 57 - June 26, 2010

More crop dusting going on around us. Shot this from my backyard this morning.

Day 56 - June 25, 2010

Got some AMAZING shots today...but it was a CRAZY experience...I can't think about it without freaking out so can't post anything from this morning yet...But...There was an awesome moon rise over the mountains last night. This was shot with my zoom from my back yard.

Day 55 - June 24, 2010

Got nothing today...walked to the middle of the road in front of my house and took this shot..."Down the Road from My House"

Day 54 - June 23, 2010

Tried another HDR of the sunset...had nothing else to fall back on...need to learn more about this!

Day 53 - June 22, 2010

Found 4 babies today...with 300+ shots it's hard to pick one...

Day 52 - June 21, 2010

I got nothing! This is a baby Gray Partridge and it was running...FAST!

Day 51 - June 20, 2010

Had a crop duster flying over a few times today...

Day 50 - June 19, 2010

Gus turned 1 today! Here's the birthday boy with a fun collar!

Day 49 - June 18, 2010

I cannot remember what these are, but I'd never seen this before so I snapped a couple of shots.

Day 48 - June 17, 2010

That's right, I've got nothing! This is a shot out the windshield while driving. Yikes!

Day 47 - June 16, 2010

Well, it's raining again. Worked in the house with a flash and got this fun image of Gus and his "little man". He is SOOOOOOO Sweet!

Day 46 - June 15, 2010

Went out early this morning on the way to work and found this pretty cooperative hawk.

Day 45 - June 14, 2010

Tried for an HDR Image of the sunset - A couple of things I learned...should have used a remote along with the tripod since the exposures were so long...and when you have a ton of spots on your sensor and have to clone them out it looks TERRIBLE in HDR...so this is a single image. I really liked how the moon looked.

Day 44 - June 13, 2010

Didn't leave home today...but heard our Mountain Ash tree buzzing. Snapped several pictures of the flowers and accompanying bees. Finally stopped when they seemed to be buzzing more around me than around the flowers. I thought this one was nice even though he wasn't facing me. I love the detail in his wing.

Day 43 - June 12, 2010

SUNSHINE AND RAIN
The last couple of day's I've noticed that while it was cloudy and rainy here, the sun was shining on the mountains to the east. I snapped a few shots and put this one together using HDR. I thought I had major spots on my sensor but have now decided they were rain drops (thank goodness).

Day 42 - June 11, 2010

SUNSET
Didn't get around to shooting until sunset tonight. Tried to do an HDR image but didn't use my tripod so that didn't work out. Note to self always use a tripod. Also, see many spots, need to clean lens and possibly sensor.

Day 41 - June 10, 2010

EVER VIGILENT
Mama jumped up to scare off another bird and I was lucky enough to get an image of these two newly hatched babies. By the end of the day all 4 had hatched.

Day 40 - June 9, 2010

KILLDEER
Another Killdeer - this time a mama on her nest.

Day 39 - June 8, 2010

NIGHTHAWK
A first for me. This is the first Nighthawk I've ever photographed. I was lucky he opened his eye for me!

Day 38 - June 7, 2010

THE FAKE OUT
Here's Papa Killdeer trying to get my attention away from one of the super cute babies (I had to post him too).

Day 37 - June 6, 2010

MISS B
Decided I might as well keep up the Longhorn theme. Here's Miss B.

Day 36 - June 5, 2010

TEX
Not much happening today so I took a few shots of Tex. His little horns are so cute right now!

June 4, 2010

Day 35 - June 4, 2010

ROSIE
Again with the rain and hail and wind...everything was hiding out trying to stay dry this evening but I found Rosie hanging out in the shed. Her horns have grown about 3 inches on each side in the last month.

Day 34 - June 3, 2010

FROSTBITE
Ugh! Rain again. Didn't see much to take a picture of today and was actually looking for a baby magpie when I saw Frostbite watching me through the window of the shed.

Day 33 - June 2, 2010

CALIFORNIA QUAIL
Wow, great day, we got this California Quail at lunch, it was great to see something I'd never seen before but sad because his wife had been hit by a car moments earlier. He stuck around for a few minutes I guess to see if she'd get up. Once he decided she wasn't he was gone in a flash.

Day 32 - June 1, 2010

PHEASANT
All I got today was this pheasant. Most shots turned out blurry because he was running so fast...
