Day 365 - April 30, 2011

THE SUN SETS ON PROJECT 365
I've been trying to think of the perfect shot to round out the year but in the end I just got another sunset.

I can't believe it has been a year. This was so much harder than I ever imagined it would be but I am so glad I did it. I learned so much about my camera and photography and I tried a lot of shots that I probably wouldn't have if it hadn't been for this project.

Thanks to everyone that came along for the ride your feedback and encouragement kept me going. Thanks Jen for being my photo buddy; Dad, Mom and Rae for following along; and especially Gary, Ben and Duel for putting up with me dragging a camera everywhere, slamming on the brakes when I yelled, and even posing for a few shots! I love you all!!

I've decided to continue on - mostly for you Dad - I love knowing you appreciate my work!

Day 364 - April 29, 2011

TWO SEASONS IN A DAY...IT'S IDAHO
Here's a shot of what we woke up to this morning...not just a skiff...but by the end of the day it was all gone and the Daffodil's were out!
We also took JR for a ride today. Here is a shot of him in the trailer when he was still in a good mood...before we got to the vet.

Day 363 - April 28, 2011

SUNNY MORNING
We had another sunny morning today.
I stopped by the river on my way to work and go this Pelican White Pelican and Squirrel.
I love being out early in the morning, everything just seems so much more calm and peaceful!

Day 362 - April 27, 2011

BEAUTIFUL MORNING
It was a beautiful morning when I got up so I left a little early for work and here is a bit of what I saw.
A Bald Eagle standing watch over his family.
A very cooperative Osprey.
And...a Killdeer in beautiful light.
(Oh yes, that blue stuff you see is the blue sky!!)

Day 361 - April 26, 2011

PROJECT 365 JUST WOULDN'T BE COMPLETE WITHOUT...
The Starling...
They do look pretty cool if the light hits them right...but I know the truth...they are my all time least favorite bird!
YUCK!

Day 360 - April 25, 2011

WOULDN'T IT BE NICE...
...if the sky was blue???
This Osprey was so cooperative today, but of course a blue sky was too much to ask for so his white head blends right in with the white sky...

Day 359 - April 24, 2011

HIS MAMA STILL LOVES HIM
Took some shots of Gary's herd today. I liked this one with Tex's mama still babying him.

Day 358 - April 23, 2011

DUEL AND DJ
Duel and DJ went riding at the dunes today. I got a few shots of them unloading when they got home. No injury's...yippee!!!

Day 357 - April 22, 2011

OLD HOMESTEAD
Funny how these poor old homesteads became the barn yard over time...

Day 356 - April 21, 2011

SUNSET
Another nice sunset tonight.

April 20, 2011

Day 355 - April 20, 2011

OSPREY
I love Osprey - love to watch them. Jen and I found a new place to take photo's of the Osprey today so hopefully we'll be able to get some good shots this summer.

April 19, 2011

Day 354 - April 19, 2011

SPRING SUNSET
Finally a pretty sunset!

Day 353 - April 18 2011

TERRIBLE SHOT
This is a terrible shot, but they were both on the nest. As I was driving down the road toward the nest daddy came back with a meal. From other pictures I've seen lately, I think they probably have babies. Exciting! I just need to get there and sit for awhile to watch them and then I should be able to get an acceptable shot...

April 17, 2011

Day 352 - April 17, 2011

GOT WIND???
It was so windy here today I could hardly hold my camera. I found this rock on a fence post and stopped for a shot. I think the wind blew it there today!!!

Day 351 - April 16, 2011

WHO DOESN'T TAKE CARE OF A THING LIKE THIS???
Well, I know who but I won't say it out loud...
I first noticed this dead cow on April 2nd, it could have been there a lot longer but who knows. The first couple of times I drove by I tried to convince myself it was just sleeping...but now...14 days later, it still has not moved and is definitely dead. The thing is, this is not out in the middle of an isolated field far from the farm house...it is right next to the farm house. I don't understand why they don't do something about it - if it gets any warmer they will have a BIG problem!

Day 350 - April 15, 2011

OPENING DAY AT YELLOWSTONE
Jen and I hit Yellowstone today and had a lot of fun. It was good to get out and away for the day. There was a lot more snow than there has been the past few years but we still saw some fun stuff.

Day 349 - April 14, 2011

SUNSET
The sunset was beautiful as we were coming home from Dad and Mom's house tonight.
It was a little too far gone once we were home and I could get a shot but I tried...

April 13, 2011

Day 348 - April 13, 2011

SINGING IN THE RAIN
Found this Meadowlark singing in the rain on my way home tonight...this rain sure doesn't make me want to sing!

Day 347 - April 12, 2011

WELL, AT LEAST I TOOK A PICTURE...
I was uninspired today and all I got was this terrible picture of this little guy...hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Day 346 - April 11, 2011

CAR CHASING DUCK...
Found this silly duck at lunch today. He and his wife made us feel really bad...they wanted something to eat so bad they were chasing the car!

April 10, 2011

Day 345 - April 10, 2011

NEIGHBORHOOD BIRDS
I just shot a few of the birds hanging around our yard today. A Robin...a Red-Winged Black Bird (not a great shot but the best I've gotten this spring...at least you can see his eye)... and a yet unidentified hawk.

April 9, 2011

Day 344 - April 9, 2011

REPAIR WORK
Much to Gary's dismay...he was my subject today. He was doing some repair work on the trailer so I took a bunch of shots of drilling and grinding, etc. I really liked how this shot caught the sparks from the grinder.

Day 343 - April 8, 2011

IT'S BACK
Winter that is...I thought the title "It's Back" was quite fitting today especially since I used almost the same title two short days ago to describe spring...
But, it's Idaho - so you never know...

Day 342 - April 7, 2011

WHO KNOWS...
I could think of nothing today. I walked around the yard and snapped a few shots, nothing spectacular...this is the top of our power meter...hopefully tomorrow will bring a better shot.

Day 341 - April 6, 2011

CHUCK
Chuck's back...we saw two osprey at lunch today - one day earlier than we saw them the last two years - but could not get a shot. There were plenty of Rock-Chuck's out though, so took a few shots of this fellow.

April 5, 2011

Day 340 - April 5, 2011

THEY'RE BACK
I guess spring is really coming! We found these Pelican's at lunch today trying to keep from being blown away.

April 4, 2011

Day 339 - April 4, 2011

GRADE SCHOOL
I found this cute little school house on St. Leon Road tonight. It would be better if the old motor home wasn't parked next to it...

Day 338 - April 3, 2011

MORE OF THE SAME
I know I posted a Meadowlark yesterday, but I really love them. I found this one this morning singing at the top of his lungs...

April 2, 2011

Day 337 - April 2, 2011

A BEAUTIFUL MORNING...
It was beautiful out this morning. I got up and went to the grocery store really early and got a few shots on my way home...it's a good thing I did because the weather turned nasty and now we are having hurricane force winds! Here are a couple of my favorites from this morning a pheasant on the run and a nice meadowlark.

Day 336 - April 1, 2011

SAME SHOT...DIFFERENT DAY
So I got another morning sky shot today...

Day 335 - March 31, 2011

MORNING SKY
Luckily I got a few shots of the sky this morning because I didn't get anything else all day!

Day 334 - March 30, 2011

RED-BREASTED MERGANSER
While I may have seen one of these before, I've certainly never photographed one.
I think this turned out pretty well. My favorite part...his messy hair!

Day 333 - March 29, 2011

KINDLE
I discovered my phone has a Kindle App that I can use to read books if I don't have my Kindle with me. I think the phone screen is WAY too little to use for reading a book!

Day 332 - March 28, 2011

IT'S GETTING A LITTLE ROCKY...
It's getting a little rocky...finding something to shoot every day - especially with this wonderful spring weather we're having...so today, all I got was a shot of these rocks in my flowerbed.
