Yellowstone Trip

Day 42 / Year 2
06.11.11
Rae and I had a sister day and took a road trip to Yellowstone today. It was really fun to spend time together and we saw some pretty cool stuff.
Here are a few of the things we saw.
1. A beautiful Bull Elk that WOULD NOT lift his head for me.
2. The Boy's Club.
3. A Buffalo.
4. The first Grizzly of the day taking a nice morning dip.
5. A Badger.
6. The second Grizzly of the day taking a stroll.
7. A young Bull Moose lounging under a tree.
8. A Bald Eagle.
I can't wait to go again!

Gossling Day Care????

Day 41 / Year 2
06.10.11
I saw this group of Canadians today...
All I can say is: I hope they are running a day care!
Otherwise it's move over 19 and Counting!!!
I also got shots I like of a Painted Turtle and a fairly cooperative hawk.

The "Fat Girls" came home...

Day 40 / Year 2
06.09.11
We went and picked up the Fat Girls tonight - hopefully 9 months from now we'll have two cute babies!!!
Here they are stepping out of the trailer and then reunited as a little herd with JR.

The Hunter

Day 39 / Year 2
06.08.11
I found the Osprey hovering over the river today waiting for a fish.
I would like this a lot better if the sky was blue but that may never happen...so here he is with a white sky instead...

Baby ??

Day 38 / Year 2
06.07.11
We found baby kittens in our shed around Memorial Day. Their mama is a stray that you cannot get near. I picked a really cute boy that is orange and white to tame and to live in our yard since we lost Ace. The problem is I can never catch him.
This little guy now comes out to be held so maybe this will be the cat that lives in our yard. Any suggestions on a name?

Frostbite

Day 37 / Year 2
06.06.11
The weather has been so crappy...I took my camera when I fed the cats hoping for a few shots of the kittens but had no such luck!
I did find Frostbite looking down at me from his perch in the top of the shed and got a shot of him.

Portrait of Gus

Day 36 / Year 2
06.05.11
I took a few shots of Gus tonight and liked how this one turned out.
He is such a sweet guy!

June 5, 2011

It's sort of like bobbing for apples...

Day 35 / Year 2
06.04.11
We irrigated today so we had a nice pond in the pasture for awhile. Gracie and Gus had a good time swimming and Gracie especially enjoyed bobbing for rocks.
It's so weird how we keep getting dogs that hold their breath and find "stuff" underwater!

Osprey

Day 34 / Year 2
06.03.11
I was able to get a couple of shots of the Osprey this morning before he went back to the nest.

Killdeer

Day 33 / Year 2
06.02.11
Found this Killdeer picking around in a mud flat today...not much else...

Spotted Sandpiper

Day 32 / Year 2
06.01.11
Funny, I don't think I'd ever seen a Spotted Sandpiper before this spring and now I see them everywhere...

Cedar Waxwings

Day 31 / Year 2
05.31.11
We found a small flock of Cedar Waxwings feeding on fruit blossoms today and were able to snap a few pictures.
Interesting Fact: Brown Headed Cowbirds raised by Cedar Waxwings usually die because they eat almost entirely fruit.
